Baking Fun :: Creamy Chicago Cheesecake

Good day everyone! Missing for a few months, wondering where am I? That's not important, here present to you guys my new baking product - Creamy Chicago Cheesecake :) Hope you guys will like it!

First time baking cheesecake, I find it quite easy actually. The product also tasted very good .... hehe! Hubby like it very much ^^ Thank you for The Kitchen 70's for the recipe. Let me translate it for you guys in english version.

The ingredients

Ingredients (Base):
200 gram of digestive biscuit/marrie biscuit
100 gram of butter milk

Ingredients (Filling):
500 gram cream cheese
320 gram whipping cream
160 gram caster sugar
4 eggs
1 lemon (only the juice only)
50 gram plain flour
30 gram corn flour

Cream Cheese that I used...

Steps:
1. First, take heavy aluminum foil, and wrap it around sides and bottom of your springform pan or cheesecake pan with removable bottom (I used 9"inch pan). This prevents leakage while baking your cheesecake in "Water Bath"method.

2. Crush the digestive biscuits and then combine it with butter milk, press into buttered 9 inch pan to form crust at the bottom. Leave it in refrigerator for 30 minutes (to be used later).

2. In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese with caster sugar until fluffy. Gradually add in whipping cream, follow by eggs (1 at a time), plain flour lemon juice and corn flour. Mixing well after each addition.

3. Pour filling into ready crust (step-2).

4. With "Water Bath" method, bake at 200 degree for first 15 minutes, then followed by 165 degree for 75 minutes.

5. Cool down the cake and leave it in refrigerator for about 2 hours. Ready to be served ^^

Recently I had a very nice claypot chicken rice at LSY-Pot @Bandar Puteri. The price is so reasonable and its full with the ingredients like chicken, salted fish and "lap cheong" (Chinese dried sausage). It was highly recommended and that is why I am sharing the post here =) Besides of the claypot chicken rice, LSY-Pot served variety of clay-pot noodles and soups. They do serve good breakfast and nice coffee too ^^

Coffee Chemistry Cafe @Sunway Giza

2 days back, I had my lunch at this cafe with my colleagues and I found this is another destination for great coffee, delicious seafood pasta and yummy frittata ^^ Coffee Chemistry Cafe, which is just newly opened at Sunway Giza, is the new dining place which I'm going to recommend to you guys now :)

Coffee Chemistry Cafe (CCC) - located at Sunway Giza Mall, above Movida Bar, shared the same location with Cubic Platforms.

The dining place.....

CCC's coffee brand is called Graffeo, from San Francisco. A very good quality of coffee bean which will produce a cup of fragrant aroma of coffee.

The coffee machine @CCC, looks similar like those high-end cafe like Starbucks and Dome. Wao, the boss really invested a lot of money in the equipment so to produce the tip-top quality of the coffee to its customer. *Thumbs up*

Look at this, the premium tea is also being served at CCC. No worries to all the non-coffee lover, you got your cup of nice tea here as well :)

Games are also available, what a great place to hang out with your family and friends :) That's what I thought!

Appetizer - Chicken Mesclun @RM9.90. The crispy diced chicken was so tender and tasty. It serves with varieties of mixed fresh vegetables and house dressing. Tasted superb-licious!

The Mediterranean style of roasted Pumpkin and Capsicum Soup @RM8.90. A must try item!

Vegetable & Onion Frittata @RM5.50 - A very traditional Italian style of oven baked vegetables and omelette serves with spicy salsa sauce. First time I'm trying this, unique and delicious, love it!

Seafood Pasta with Spicy Carbonara @RM16.90 - yummy! It came with the fresh prawns, squids and mussels, really value for money! :)

Fish Stew Rice @RM10.90 - If you think it's very spicy then you are wrong! It's actually the tomato sauce with the stewed fish cubes. Tasted very well with the white rice. Another good choice of my lunch-mate :)

Another satisfied MSG-FREE lunch with my colleagues at CCC. Will definitely come back again! :)

This time I'm gonna share with you guys on my recent trial on the new mask introduced by Natio. The Natio Clay and Plant Face Mask Purifier (made in Australia) - A purifying blend of Australian clay with cleansing and rejuvenating properties to absorb excess oil and draw out impurities for soft, clear, healthy looking skin. helps to unclog and tighten pores, rejuvenate tired skin and improve skin’s firmness and texture. It is also ideal for people with oily and blemished skin. A wonderful at-home treatment for all skin types.

Some of the benefits found in the ingredients used: Kaolin absorbs impurities while bentonite helps prevent the appearance of blemishes. Pure essential oils of sesame, palma rosa and lemon gently hydrate, nurture and soothe the skin.

Besides, it's inexpensive, and does a fabulous job. I love this mask, it smells good and the texture is not as dry/hard as compare to others clay mask. It foes on thick but then once you spread it out its creamy and even. Usually I apply it on my face after cleansing and exfoliation, after around 15-20mins i wash it off with luke warm water and immediately my skin is glowy and refreshed! I use it 1-2 times a week alternately with another whitening mask. Sounds so hardworking right? Hehehe....Well, have to ler.....age is catching up now :P

Wow.....it has been long time I didn't update my blog :P I've been quoted as "MIA" by my blogger friend, hehe! Sorry about that and I will try my best to update my post, of course with all those nice photos :) Well, life is so good and happening especially when there is seasonal festive to celebrate with the love ones, family and friends.

How's my CNY celebration? It's good, eat and play non stop as previous years. The only different is this year gonna give out double happiness (Ang Pow) :) Felt excited and happy when I do so, probably it's indicate now I'm at different stage of my life....hehe!

Then how about the V'day celebration? It was great too! Initially thought that the Valentine celebration probably will be very simple, and most probably there won't be any gift from 肥肥, since we already married :P But surprisingly I have gotten an awesome V'gift from hubby, which is an item that I wished to own for quite sometimes; and happens that when I almost want to purchase it last time (coupled of months back), being stopped by hubby with this excuse: "Can you think of 10 reasons why you need this?" Obviously, I can't think of those so called "reasonssssss", hence I failed to buy it at that time.

But who knows, I finally owned it now, and it's my 1st Valentine gift after married, isn't that so sweet and lovely of my 肥肥 :) Do check out the pictures shot on my secret V'gift besides of a bouquet of roses, movie and a nice dinner with hubby ^^

Baking Fun - Honey Corn Flakes Cookies

The last CNY cookies baking project in the Lunar Year of Rabbit~ Here I wish you all * 恭喜发财 * 心想事成 * 身体健康 *

"GONG XI FA CAI"

Ingredients (Approximately 70 cups):
Original Flavor Corn Flakes 150g
Unsalted Butter 50g
Honey 4-6 tbsp (own preference)

Steps:
1. Melt the butter and honey using the double boiler method. Stir it at all time until mixture slightly thick.

2.Coarsely crush the corn flakes; then pour the mixture (1) into a big bowl and after that stir in corn flakes. Mix well.

3. Spoon it into paper cups.

4. Bake in preheated 125'C degree oven for 15-20mins or until lightly brown.

5. Remove from oven and let stand for about 10mins; and it's ready to be served.

Baking Fun - London Chocolate Cup Cookies

I had continued my CNY cookies venture last week in producing the London Choc Cup Cookies ^_^ The results turned out to be OK, hubby said it’s not enough sweet….hmmm, okay…..may be next time should increase the icing sugar volume. Anyway, it’s also very depend on the level of sweetness of the chocolate bar that you bought. So pandai-pandai ya …. Let’s check out the recipe below (refer to the recipe from my schoolmate):

The small paper cup

Ingredients (Approximately 50 cups):

Part [A]
Unsalted Butter, softened 125g
Icing Sugar 60g
Egg ½
Egg Yolk ½
Vanilla Essence ½ tsp

Part [B]
All Purpose Flour, sifted 150g
Almond Powder 100g

Filing:
50 Almonds

Top:
Chocolate 200g
Chopped Almond

Almonds

Steps:
1. Preheat oven to 180’C degree.
2. Cream [A] with the mixer; fold in [B] to [A] gradually to mix and become a dough.
3. Spoonful the dough around 10-12g, wrap in a almond into each small dough, shape it into oval/round.
4. Place the wrapped dough into the cookies cup; bake for 15-20 minutes.
5. Melt the chocolate bar into syrup using the double boiler method (refer picture).
6. Place the appropriate amount of choc syrup on top of the cup cookies; follow by the chopped walnut.
7. Place the cookies into the fridge for about 5 minutes; and it’s ready to be served.

Ang Pao - Double This Year!!

The lunar year of Rabbit will be my 1st year of giving out Ang Pao =) And it will be DOUBLE! I found this statement from Wikipedia: “In keeping with Chinese customs, newly wedded couples are usually expected to be extremely generous with the amount offered in the red packets, so as to receive blessings for a blissful marriage.” Wow, the word “extremely” really carry a lot of weight here, hehehehe~ Anyway, to me, by giving out the Ang Pao means you are sharing the prosperous and happiness together with your family and friends, and for those married person who did not do so, it would mean that he or she would be "out of luck" in the new year….hehe!

I noticed nowadays the Ang Pao packet no longer produced in RED only, but there is also PINK, YELLOW, GOLD in color. I still prefer to have the Ang Pao in RED and PINK; it’s symbolizes good luck and is supposed to ward off evil spirits ^_^ Really can’t wait for the Chinese New Year, hope this Rabbit will brings all the lucks and prosperous to us =)

Baking Fun - Homemade Pineapple Tarts

Come every Lunar New Year, you will notice pineapple tarts being sold like hot cakes. It ranks top in the list of popular baked pastries among Malaysian Chinese celebrating this festive season. Me and hubby are having the same favorite on this delicious and addictive pineapple tart specifically on the rolled type =) For the past few years, I used to buy this from 1 of the cookies stall from KLCC. They are selling good pineapple tarts which suit my/hubby's taste.

But this year, I'm gonna do it by myself! I did it actually yesterday during the Thaipusam holiday....hehe! Surpringly the result turned out to be very good *ehem* The tart's skin was so soft (入口既溶) and the pineapple jam wasn't that sweet. Hubby gave me 8/10, missing another 2 points is because of 1) the tart's size wasn't that standard 2) the portion is not enough for him....hahaha!

As I've learnt from my cousin, she advice me to go source for the the ready-made pineapple jam from hypermarket rather than doing it on my own, coz it's not easy and time consuming, which I think it's true. I am a lazy pig so I want to have the express cum fruitful baking hourz =) Another secret recipe of mine is I managed to get the ready-mixed pineapple tart mix from the bakery shop, so this has saved a lot of my energy as well ^^

Let's check out the recipe and photos that taken by hubby here:

Ingredients:
400g Pineapple Tart Mix
(Alternative: 350g flour + 2 tbsp corn flour + 50g icing sugar + 1/4 tsp salt - all mixed and sifted)
250g Salted Butter (use premium brand of butter to get the buttery flavor for the pastry)
2 egg yolks
1/2 tsp vanilla essence
Pineapple Filing/Jam (I get it from Tesco Hypermarket - 1 box around 500g)
Egg Wash - 1 egg yolk + 1 tbsp milk

Steps:
1. Preheat the oven to 180'C.
2. Cream the butter until light.
3. Beat the 2 egg yolks and add-in vanilla essence.
4. Add step (3) into (2), half at a time.
5. Fold in the sifted pineapple tart mix and mix into a firm dough.
6. Put the dough into a pineapple roll pastry press or mould, and then press out into a strip.
7. Place pineapple filing at one end and roll up the pastry, as in a Swiss roll, enough to enclose the jam. Do not overlap the pastry. Cut off the excess pastry.
8. Put the rolls on the baking tray. Brush with egg wash.
9. Bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes and turn the baking tray 180 ° and continue to bake for 10. minutes or until golden brown.
11. Leave to cool before storing.

I've finally made it! Thanks hubby for helping me in "shaping" the pineapple jam, it's the joint effort =)

With the above ingredients, I managed to make 1 jug of the pineapple tarts (around 75) only. Hubby requested to bake more as this 1st jug sure will whack ("habis sapu") by him before the CNY. Hmm...OK, I think I'm gonna bake more after my 2nd CNY project =) Ciao for now~

♥ Unforgettable Wedding Reception ♥

My wedding stories continued with the wedding reception which hosted at Grand Palace Restaurant, Pavilion. It was a wonderful evening, we managed to gather everyone of our family members, friends, schoolmates, colleagues together to celebrate and toast for our marriage ^^

Yes! We've made the right choice of the restaurant! Nice ambiance and suitable place if you plan to host for small-medium size wedding reception. Me and hubby are so satisfied with their service and offer as well.

We prepared the wedding favor for our guests as a token of appreciation - it was the chopsticks by meaning of "united two" =) Fyi, we bought 300 pairs of these nice chopsticks all the way from our Hang Zhou trip last year :P

We also hired 2 musicians to perform in our wedding. 1 guitarist and 1 keyboard player. Both of them sing very well during that evening. My guests enjoyed a lot and gave me a lot of good feedback as well.

After the 2nd dish served, I went off to change my 2nd gown, it was a designer gown from D&L (by Touch Wedding). I like this gown very much, very colorful and blink, it suits my character very well =) Hubby and I posing again before the 2nd march-in =)

Here we are again! This time, I can hear the applauses are as loud as the 1st march-in =) *happy* Our march-in song: "Just The Way You Are" by Bruno Mars ^^

We went up straight to the stage and perform the cake cutting ceremony.....

We felt so proud of ourself and everyone of our guest!!! =)

The Sweetest Day ♥ Our Wedding Tea Ceremony

Recently when my friends and colleagues saw me, they said: “You looks so cheerful and happy after the wedding, seems you enjoy a lot on your marriage life!” =) Well, this is true, I did enjoyed what I am having and living now, it’s like different stage of my life where I am officially being called Mrs.Chan. Hubby also spent a lot of time with me now. Although we have been along for almost 11 years, but seriously only now we have the chance to enjoy the 2 people world under the new roof =) I am truly appreciate and thanks god for giving me everything that I am having now, will treasure it for sure~

The moment of the wedding ceremony is still stay fresh in my mind now. I think to have this Chinese custom wedding ceremony is a good choice, at least me and my husband feel so glad and touch to see everyone of our family members and friends smile happily on that day, especially my mum =) I just gotten all the photos from Touch Wedding studio on last weekend, and I can’t wait to upload it to FB to share with my relatives and friends, I know you are eagerly to see it too!! Baking Fun - Cantonese Egg Tart

As requested by Mr.Hubby, I've made this for him yesterday ^^ And he likes it very much and ate 5 of it, hehehe! Also brought some for my mum and colleagues, seems tasted good, just need to improve the crust to be more crunchy as commented by my colleague. After wrote for so long, it seems I've forgot to let you know what is the project this time...hehe! It's the Cantonese Egg Tart ^^ Let's check out the recipe and the making of ......[adopted from: http://en.christinesrecipes.com]

Cantonese Egg Tart [Makes about 14 - 16]
Ingredients of crust:
• 225 gm plain flour
• 125 gm butter (room temperature)
• 55 gm icing sugar
• 1 egg, whisked
• a dash of vanilla extract

Ingredients of custard:
• 3 eggs
• 100 gm caster sugar
• 225 gm hot water
• 85 gm evaporated milk
• 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Steps (Making Crust):

Cream the butter and sugar with an electric mixer over medium speed until the mixture is smooth, fluffy and light in color.
Add in whisked egg, half at a time, beat over low speed. Add vanilla extract, mix well.
Sift in flour in two batches, scraping down the sides of the bowl between additions with a spatula, and make sure all ingredients combine well. Knead into dough.
Roll out the dough to a 1/2 cm thickness. Cut dough with a cookie cutter that is just a bit smaller than your tart tin in size. Line dough in the middle of tart tins, one by one. Lightly press the dough with your thumbs, starting from the bottom then up to the sides. While pressing the dough, turn the tart tin clockwise/anti-clockwise in order to make an even tart shell. Trim away any excess dough.

Steps (Making Custard):

Add sugar into hot water, mix until completely dissolved.
Whisk egg with evaporated milk. Pour in sugar water. Mix well.
Sift egg mixture to get rid of any foam into a tea pot. Carefully pour egg mixture into each tart shell.

Steps (Baking Tarts):

Sending into the oven ...... Sneak preview....hehe!

Preheat oven to 200 degree 'C. Position rack in lower third of oven. Bake tarts for 10 to 15 minutes until the edges are lightly brown. [Note: Placing tarts at the lower rack in oven could cook crusts easily before the egg custard being heated up too quickly.]
Lower the heat to 180C. Keep an eye on them. Once you see the custard being puffed up a bit, pull the oven door open about 2 to 3 inches. Bake for another 10 to 15 minutes until the custard is cooked through. Just insert a toothpick into the custard. If it stands on its own, it’s done. [Note: At the very last stage, pull the oven door open a few inches. This method is to avoid custard from being puffed up too high. The custard would collapse once they are cooled down otherwise.]

Alright, it's done! Let's get it cool down for 5-10 minutes first......

Now I can enjoy my own-made Cantonese Egg Tart ^^ Yummy~

Baking Fun - Almond and Blueberry Jam Drops

"Once you've started, it's hard to resist the temptation to bake more!" This statement is so true to describe my recent mood now ^^

My recent baking project - Almond and Blueberry Jam Drops which adopted and modified from "The Cookie Collection" by Linda Doeser. Let's check out the recipe and my work ^^

Ingredients:
[Makes about 30]

* 225g butter, softened
* 140g caster sugar
* 1 egg yolk, lightly beaten
* 280g plain flour
* 55g almonds, toasted and chopped
* 4 tbsp blueberry jam
* salt

Steps:

1. Preheat the oven to 190 degree C'. Line 2 baking sheets with baking parchment.

2. Put the butter and sugar into a bowl and mix well with a wooden spoon, then beat in the egg yolk. Sift together the flour and and a pinch of salt into the mixture, add the almonds and stir until thoroughly combined.

3. Scoop out tablespoons of the mixture and shape into balls with your hands, then put them on the prepared baking sheets, spaced well apart. Use the dampened handle of a wooden spoon to make a hollow in the center of each cookie and fill in the hollows with blueberry jam.

4. Bake for 15-18 minutes, until golden brown. Leave to cool on the baking sheets for 5-10 minutes, then using a palette knife, carefully transfer the cookies to wire racks to cool completely.

Baked and left to cool on the rack for about 5-10 minutes.

The cookies are ready now! ^^

So far, this is the best cookies that I've made. It tasted so soft and yummy ^^ Love it~ By the way, hubby just put in a request to bake the egg tart for him, looks like I'm gonna research a bit and prepare the ingredients =) Will share with you guys soon! Ciao~

My 1st R.O.M anniversary celebration (30.dec.2010) was simple but awesome. At first, mr.hubby suggested to have a nice dinner at one of the KL restaurant, but I rejected his idea for our own good....I am fed-up with the KL jam. So I countered his proposal via the phone like below:

mrs.wife: "Why don't we go to 1 of the nearby western restaurant? Say Kaki Corner?"
mr.hubby: "If you are OK, then I am fine...."

[5 minutes later......]

mr.hubby: "Dear, since you want some western style, why don't I cook for you tonight?"
mrs.wife: "Ohhh~ If you are OK then I am super fine!......hehe!"
mr.hubby: "Alright! You really have "sik sun" (食神) tonight!"

Looks like my chef is going to create some magic for the anniversary dinner =) When I'm back from the office, mr.hubby already in kitchen busy prepare for the dinner..... Wow~ I can't believe that he managed to shop for all the ingredients in such a short pace of time. We're going to have the Grilled Lamb Shoulder marinated in Terriyaki sauce!!

This is another superb! My favorite garlic butter French toast....it tasted very good especially when dip it with the mushroom soup~

Ta daaa...... the awesome meal produced by the awesome hubby =) Mum always say that a good husband is a man who are willing to cook for his wife, I think this is real true! =)

It was a romantic and tasteful dinner indeed, and our dinner ended with this special dessert, Nata De-Coco with Jack Fruit ice ..... so cooling and refreshing~ [Don't know where did hubby got this recipe from?? Hahahaha.....]

Swarovski crystal, my all time favorite accessories ^^ This time, I’ve got 2 more added into my jewellery box. It’s the X’mas and New Year gift bought by Mr.Hubby :)

I remember my very 1st Swarovski pendant was bought at the Vivo City, Singapore in year 2008, that was a Heart Pendant with sport clear crystal in pave and a detailed back with 7 single set clear crystals. It hangs elegantly on a rhodium plated chain. I love that very much and until now, I am still wearing it and keeping it like brand new. The chain was once broken but luckily Swarovski managed to repair it for me, and it’s FOC :) [All Swarovski came with 2 years standard international warranty for you guys info.]

Now I am truly happy that I have additional 2 more into my collection, 1 is the Silver "Erika" Bracelet with Crystal Charms; and another 1 is the Alana Heart Pendant. *happy*

Mum's 65th Birthday Celebration

Woo~ almost forgot to post about this....hehe! It's my mum's 65th birthday celebration which happened on 8th Dec 2010, still within the birthday month ya ^^ The celebration took place at the nearest Chinese restaurant again - Six Happiness Garden Restaurant; the place where I celebrated Mother's Day this year with the "Poon Choi" dish (refer: http://about-uli.blogspot.com/2010/05/mothers-day-celebration-2010.html). Since their service and dishes is good, so we decided to come back again ^^

This year's celebration seems much more happier compared to previous one, probably it's because of it's close to my big. MiaoMiao was very funny this year, keep on looking for her dad and grandma to give "free" kisses....so cute! ^^ You will notice her cuteness when you check out the photos below.....hehe!

Baking Fun - Party Cupcake

I did this during the Christmas celebration with hubby and piggy gang on the past few days. It was my 1st time produce the icing cream but it seems not so successful, due to it's too watery.... because of this, I gotta quickly put the cupcakes into the fridge after decorated it in order to avoid the cream further melt away.

My cupcake turned out not so nice and tasted a bit hard :( I guess it needs more improvement next time. 1 of my piggy member given me 6/10 for the taste, but 10/10 from its outlook and my sincerity....muahhahaha! Let's check out the recipe below, may be you can try this out for New Year celebration as well ;-)

Ingredients:
• 110g Unsalted butter at room temperature
• 90g Caster sugar
• 110g self-raising flour
• 1tbsp Dutch-process cocoa powder
• 2 eggs
• 1 tbsp full cream milk

Method:
1. Preheat oven to 180 degree C.
2. Line paper cases in muffin tin.
3. Combine all the ingredients in a large bowl and beat with an electric mixer until smooth.
4. Spoon the batter into the cases.
5. Bake about 15mins; remove cupcakes and cool on rack. Once the cup cakes cool frost with icing and decorate as per your style.

Butter-cream Frosting:
• 240g pure icing sugar, sifted
• 120g unsalted butter at room temperature
• 2 tsp pure lemon extract
• 4 tbsp whipping cream

Method:
1. In an electric mixer, cream the butter until smooth and well blended. Add in lemon extract.
2. With the mixer on low speed, gradually beat in the sugar. Add the whip cream and beat on high speed until frosting is light and fluffy (about 3-4 minutes).

Baking Fun - Walnut Cookies

Phew~ Finally I've finished my wedding, and now it's time to catch-up with the back-dated post! Hopefully manage to share as much as I could, including my wedding actual day's photos....but that will take a little bit longer as the photos are still in processing by the studio.

Here my 1st cookies project - Walnut Cookies. My comment, tasted OK, but it's a bit too thick, I think next time need to flatten it more ^^

Ingredients:
All-purpose flour (100g)
Caster Sugar (50g)
Vege Oil (55g)
Eggs (10g)
Chopped Walnuts (30g)
Baking powder (1/4 tsp)
Baking soda (1/8 tsp)

Steps:
1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C.
2. In a large bowl, cream the vege oil, eggs and caster sugar. Stir in the flour, baking powder and baking soda. Stir in the walnuts. Drop dough by spoonful, flatten it with 2 inches apart on aluminium foil/cookie sheets. (Note: I use my palm to flatten the surface, you can choose to use some other tools)
3. Use a brush and put a thin layer of the eggs on top of the flatten dough's surface.
4. Bake 12-15 minutes. Let cool on wire racks, and ready to serve.

Betrothal Ceremony (過大禮)

Woooo...time really flies. I still remember 2009, December month, I am busy in prepare my pre-wedding shootings. And now, 1 year later, it's my big day, my long-planned wedding ceremony has finally arrive~

18.12.2010 is the D-day, the day I officially married with the completeness of the chinese wedding customs =) This is not a scheduled post, I write this post on my pre-wedding day, no joke! Knowing the coming 2 days will be my busy day with the tea ceremony and dinner, hence I didn't plan to have the buffet catering at my mum's place. I just had the simple dinner with mum and niece just now; and now having my own sweet time to blog, and to take an early rest later. *Hope I can sleep well tonight* :)

How do I feel now? Calm, peaceful in mind, not very excited as well.....I think kinda weird to have this kind of feeling at this moment. Didn't expect to have this feeling on the pre-wedding day.......haha! Many of the FB friends congratulated me thru the FB, thank you so much! Some of the experienced bride commented I will be feeling touching, and more exciting tomorrow.....Well, wait and see then ;) Before ended with this post, share with you guys some of the pictures taken during the Betrothal Ceremony which happened in 2 weeks ago.

Baking Fun - Chocolate and Vanilla Marble Cake

While I am counting down on my wedding big day, I'm thinking to clear off my backlogs on baking post first ....hehe! This time is the Chocolate and Vanilla Marble Cake recipe which adopted from Rachel Allen, Bake. Got this done in 2 weeks back and I personally do not quite satisfy with the final product, it was a bit dry but hubby and friends said it was OK. Hmm...anyway, I felt the over-night's cake tasted much better than the freshly baked one, serious......

Do you guys know why? Haha......

Ingredients:
225g butter, at room temperature
225g caster sugar
4 eggs, at room temperature
2 tsp vanilla extract
225g self raising flour
50ml milk
50g cocoa powder, sifted

Method:
1. Preheat the oven to 180'C. Butter and flour the sides of a 20cm cake tin and line the base with greaseproof paper.

2. Cream the butter in a large bowl or in an electric food mixer until soft. Add the sugar and beat until the mixture is light and fluffy.

3. Whisk the eggs and vanilla extract together in a small bowl. Gradually add the eggs to the butter mixture, beating all the time. Sift in the flour and baking powder and fold in gently to mix, then add the milk and mix gently to combine.

4. Tip half of the cake mixture into another large bowl and, into this bowl, fold in the sifted cocoa powder.

5. Place the cake mixtures into the prepared tin by alternating spoonfuls of the vanilla batter with the chocolate batter, then with a skewer or similar implement, gently draw swirls through the cake mixture to ‘marblise’ it. Don’t overmix or you won’t have that wonderful marble effect. Bake in the oven for 45 minutes or until a skewer inserted into the middle comes out clean.

6. Turn the cake out onto a wire rack and allow to cool before serving.

Baking Fun - Blueberry Cupcake

My 1st cupcake product ^_^ And yes! It's a successful one~ Been always buy the similar muffin from Starbucks and now I got a chance to do it myself~ Brought the final product to my office to share with some of my colleagues, and got the good feedback from them as well.....hehe! Probably next time I wanna try to add in some cheesy cube on top of it ^_^

Ingredients (Cater for 18 cupcakes):
Self-raising flour 200g
Almond flour 50g
Unsalted Butter 120g
Shortening 80g
Salt 1/4 tsp
Caster sugar 40g
Icing sugar 100g
4 Eggs
Full cream milk 60g
Blueberry Jam

Steps:
1. Pre-heat oven to 180'C.
2. On slow speed, cream butter and sugar.
3. Add eggs, one at a time and mix until blended.
4. Sift the raising flour, and alternating with milk.
5. Add in the almond flour and salt while doing step (4).
6. Mix the batter with 2 tsp of blueberry jam (you can put more depends on self preference).
7. When the mixture is done, spoon cupcake batter into the muffin cup until 80% full.
8. Spoon a little bit of the blueberry jam on top of the batter and gently draw swirls through the cake mixture.
9. Bake at 180'C, 45-50minutes.
10. Cool for 10 minutes and we are ready to taste it now!

Happy Birthday to me! Hehehe…..1 year older already, I should say I year mature instead :P

Had a blissful birthday celebration with hubby this year at the Kampachi, Equatorial Hotel. All this while, both of us are the fans for Kampachi’s soft shell crab and usually we went to the one located at Pavilion shopping mall. This time, hubby suggested that we try out the “original” Kampachi outlet at Equatorial, I guess no way for me to say “NO”, can’t resist the temptation of the soft shell crab ^_^

We arrived at the Kampachi Equatorial Hotel. Reservation was made and we've got the nice seating location ^_^

Vanilla Strawberry Green Tea....tasted not bad, something different~

Lunch at Grand Imperial Chinese Restaurant, 1 Utama

A quick entry for the yummy food post which I had it with my boss and colleagues last 2 weeks at Grand Imperial Chinese Restaurant, 1U. This restaurant was newly opened at 1U not long ago, and my boss mentioned that some of their dish tasted very very good especially the stuffed sea cucumber; hence he has suggested to go there for a "luxury" lunch before his short break to Australia ^^

All the dishes were pre-ordered by boss, what we gonna do is just go there, sit and enjoy the yummy-licious foods ^^ Let's check out what we had~

Steamed Kampung Chicken - the chicken meat was so tender......jeng!

Next, we have the Stir Fried Beef Sirloin ^^ The gang love this so much~

Signature Homemade Beancurd......the sauce tasted very good, it goes well with the Jasmin White rice....hehe!

Stuffed Sea Cucumber with Fish Paste........I think my boss is right! It taste so great especially when you eat it while its hot! Superb~

My first baking project finally realized and succeeded on last Sunday….huhu~ It was really interesting and I think 2nd project will be kicking off very soon! =) My mum and hubby was so surprised when they saw the cake raising up in the oven…..my mum said: “Wao! 1st time looks good…the mixture has raised up…” Then I told mum:"Of course la Ah Ma, it’s raising flour ma….hahahahha!”. Well, the final product was eatable, soft in texture, nice but a little bit too salty, I guess I forgot to reduce the salt while I am actually reducing the caster sugar’s volume (mum can’t eat too sweet stuff)…..need to fine tune it next time =)

Ingredients:

250g salted butter
210g castor sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp vanilla essence
200g self raising flour, sifted with 1/4 tsp salt
4 tbsp fresh UHT milk

Method:

1. Grease and line a 20 cm cake tin with greased grease proof paper. Preheat oven to 170’C.

2. Cream butter and sugar until light and creamy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition until mixture is light and fluffy. Add the vanilla essence.

3. Fold in sifted flour gradually to mix. Finally stir in milk. Mix until well combined.

4. Turn out mixture into prepared tin. Bake in preheated oven for 55 – 60 minutes or until cooked through when tested with a skewer.

5. Turn the cake out onto a wire rack and allow to cool before serving.

3 More Weeks To Go ......

3 more weeks to go for my wedding big day! How do I feel now? Calm and peace of mind, probably it was due to most of the things already done and now just awaiting for the traditional custom procedures to be held on, eg: Betrothal (过大礼), Delivery of the bride's dowry (送嫁妆), Install the bridal bed (按床) and the Chinese wedding decorations (大喜装饰). Sounds like a lot more to do, but everything will go through the simplest way, to avoid another big headache.....hehe!

Meantime, I've been received many "request" to share the pre-wedding photos online, okay.....I hear you and here you go some of the collection ^^

2 days ago was my hubby’s birthday (thanks for all the birthday – on behalf of hubby) We celebrated the special day at our home sweet home – for the first birthday celebration at new nest! Knowing that all this while he is a big fan of Manchester United football team, hence I’ve secretly ordered a ManU cupcakes as his birthday cake *surprise* And as expected, he loves it so much…hehe!

Besides, I’ve got all my kitchenware equipped properly, bought the ingredients few days ago, and cooked a delicious meal for him~ Woooo...you thought I don’t know how to cook…..hehe! You’re wrong then, I am quite a "pro" cook at home..... hehe! But……………due to left out this “job” to my mum for quite sometimes, so I guess now it’s time to pick up the old skills again. Anyway, I’ve prepared the Garlic Pork Sirloin Fried Pasta for hubby, with additional eggs and luncheon meat :P Overall, not too bad, I rated it at 7/10 =) Hubby “sapu habis" the pasta and requested me to cook for him again soon…..*paiseh*

Birthday present? Of course got it for him as well ;) Also he has redeemed his last year’s gift from me in 2 weeks ago! Once again, Happy Birthday to 肥肥, luv ya~

After 1.5 months of effort and the close monitoring by 肥肥, everything done in order, and now left only the decoration part which is still pending in hand, need to find time to shop for the right stuffs ^.^ Bravo to肥肥 as he contributed the most in this renovation no matter in terms of time, energy and $$ :P

Well, for those who renovated their house before, I believed you will understand that renovation is really not an easy task to handle, from defects checking > reno quotation > reno monitoring > furniture selection > furnishing > finishing. Challenges add-on if you need to deal with different contractors for different area of work, eg: electrical, piping, cabinets and etc. Even for the wall painting colors’ selection, we’ve been selecting the by flipping the catalogues over and over again….. what to do, no budget to hire ID…..lolx~ The master mind behind the reno project - ME! Of course, hubby contributed his idea but most of the time “kena” reject by me….hehehe! So I came out with the design idea, and he contributed his time and energy for execution ;-) Perfect match huh! *ehemmm*

We enjoyed a lot In shopping for the furniture, home appliances, and lightings. Basically we did cornice instead of the full plaster ceiling at our house due to we don’t wish to lower down the ceiling height and meanwhile, we can have the nice pendant lamp hook on the ceiling ^.^

Wallpaper and curtain plays the major role in terms of the home furnishing. In this area, we’ve engaged a freelancer for the affordable and quality of products & services. Love my master room’s wallpaper so much, it looks so much elegant now with this piece of wall art! I’ve also utilizes a lot of Korean wall décor stickers in decorating the rooms. I think it’s an great idea for inexpensive, creative, and cheerful interior design!

MAGIC on My Wedding Cake!

Plan for a wedding can be simple or complex. Whatever it is, it’s not an easy task to handle, and luckily this is only once in a life time! Now I am having headache to design my wedding cake. Been discussed with hubby but as you all know, guys will never have interest in this topic, so end up it’s always ended with a statement sound like this: “As long as you like it dear~” #_#

Okay, fine……let me just handle this with my baker as towards the end I know I’m going to ban hubby's idea due to lack of art sense :P I’ve been doing research online to hunt for the nice cake’s design. Hmmm…I guess this has been done since a year ago….hehe! The longer I do the research, the more nice designs saved into my folder. Now, I am having many photos and hard for me to make a decision on which design to go for! At the meantime, I always believed to leave some rooms for the designer (in this case is the baker) to create their awesome sculpture! Agree with me? Now, what I need to do is to streamline the design that I super LIKE, and pass to my baker for a look and feel on what I wish to have. From there, hopefully he can create some MAGIC for me on my big day!

Wedding Food Tasting Session!

Wedding Food Tasting, 1 of the essential agenda throughout the wedding planning. The restaurant that we’ve engaged – Grand Palace Restaurant at Pavilion shopping mall. Why we’ve chosen this place? This question always raised by my friends. What I would tell them is:

*** The restaurant location – in the heart of KL.
*** The restaurant ambiance is great! Love all the crystal lightings.
*** The size of the restaurant is suitable for number of tables which we’re going to host, not too small and not too big.
*** Match with our budget of course.
*** And, we want to have PORK Piglet for our guest!
*** My guest who arrived earlier, can consider to go shopping or movie first….hehe!

My Wedding Invitation :)

After attended to several wedding ceremonies of my friends, it’s time to prepare mine! It’s my turn now and 18-19 Dec 2010 will be my big day! Some people asking me why separate it into 2 days? Why not complete everything in a day, “一次过”. Well, to me, I think this is once in a life time and I want to take my own sweet time to enjoy every single moment, get myself ready and prepare for the best!! I don’t want to feel regret for not taking group pictures with my family and friends; I don’t want to feel regret for not welcoming my guest during the wedding reception but just stay inside the room for make-up; too many things to worry seems :P

It’s my turn to distribute the invitation now. Me and hubby has chosen the red color with modern design as the wedding invitation card. RED – gave us the feeling of happiness, happening and it’s the traditional color which associated with the Chinese weddings ^^ Tell you what! The 1st batch of cards have been fully distributed and we gotta re-print the 2nd batch now. Hopefully will get it done on time so that we won’t be missing out any of our precious family members and friends.

On the 18.Sep.2010, it marks a memorable day for piggy gang as our piggy members – Vincent and Michelle has finally tied the knot on this date! Congratulations~ As usual, all the piggy members involved actively in the tea ceremony and this time, we’ve gotten the complimentary RED t-shirt as our attire. Nice!! This year is really full of wedding events, who said Tiger year not suitable for wedding…..hehe! Just need to select the right timing with the right couple ;-)

I’m not the official photographer on that day, so I just had the casual shooting during the ceremony. DiGi Rocks!! And this is real true man! On the 14.Oct.2010…it marks the most happening day in my working life! Yes it's DiGi15th Birthday and we’ve celebrated the birthday with the Customers and among DiGizens at the heart of KL city – Pavilion.

Thanks to Mr.Police Traffic :D We’d feelz like SVIP on that day...hehe!

The Digizen’s Domino was successfully formed within an hour, although its 30minutes delayed from the initial plan, but finally we made it to the way for the certification. Bravo DiGizen!! Luckily the weather wasn’t that bad as compared to few days before which was super heaty. **phew** Let's check below domino picture:

The late lunch was held at Food Republic, Pavilion at around 230pm. The whole food court was flooded with yellowmanssss….haha! I bet the shoppers and passerby felt shocked to see so many of us on that day….hahaha!

Great Time @Universal Studio Singapore (USS)

Hey Universal Studio Singapore…we stepped on your land finally~ As mentioned in previous post, besides of distributing the wedding invitation card, I’ve also planned our itinerary to visit to USS. For you guys who plan to visit to this place, here are some information for your reference:

Ticket Purchase: http://www.rwsentosa.com/ (remember to get your ticket purchased before you depart to USS preferably 2 weeks before, don’t be surprised if the tickets are fully sold out for last minute visitors ya!)

Ticket Price: SGD 66 (Weekday); SGD72 (Sat/Sun) - Print the online tickets and bring there!!
Tips: Bring along a pair of spare cloths/rain-coat/umbrella (in case you get wet at 1 of the theme attraction…..hehe!)

USS provides SGD5 voucher for food and gift purchase each. So remember to go and collect your vouchers right after you enter to the theme park ya ;) USS mainly consist of 7 main attractions:

* The Lost World
* Far Far Away
* Madagascar
* Ancient Egypt
* Hollywood
* Sci-Fi City
* New York

All attractions are open from 10am to 630pm. Last round of fireworks will be on 930pm which will last for about 10 minutes. (I did wait until 930pm ya ^^ but still I feel Disneyland HK’s fireworks are much more better :P) In this trip, there are a few attractions were closed for maintenance, 1 of it is the Battlestar Galactica - the world's tallest duelling roller coasters. Hmm...but after look at the track, we won't be playing this even-though its operate as normal :P Too old for this ride....haha!

Me and 肥肥 had fun there. We took lots of photos with the Universal Studio’s characters like KungFu Panda, Betty Boop, Shrek & Princess Fiona, and etc **happy** Although the park isn’t that big as we thought, but we enjoyed a lot inside with the games, photo session as well as the food ^^ Got myself a cute Betty Boop’s comb too……hehe! Let’s take a look on some of the photos taken….in short, USS worth for a visit. Hope I can visit to Universal Studio Japan real soon ;)

Marina Bay Sands Hotel - We stayed there!

Yo! Been "ponteng" for my blog for such a long period....just a quick update, the house renovation still in progress and targeted to be completed in mid of Nov'10. Work? Still catching up with my job, meetings everyday, well....this is life of a Business Analyst! What makes me feel good is the great working environment, tell you what, DiGizen is going for Adam Lambert's concert in coming Thurs....huhu~ "What do you want from me...." :P It's actually DiGi's 15th Anniversary in the coming Thurs and company is planning for a big event on that day, and I'm really looking forward to it ^^ Alright, finished the quick update and back to the essence for this post.

Yup! Me and hubby just came back from Singapore today. This is a planned trip since few months back, the main reason to travel there is to distribute the wedding invitation card to our relatives and friends ^^ Secondly, we wanna to visit to the Universal Studio Singapore...etc. There's always something unplanned turns out in the planned trip! It was really an unexpected event where my beloved cousin booked a room for us at Marina Bay Sands Hotel for a night stay there ^^ At first I thought the rooms have been fully taken up since we're last minute booking, but everything turns out to be so smooth and we managed to get a room at Level 31 of Tower 3, it's indeed a big room for just 2 of us....syiok!

Sweet Home Renovation Kick-Off Soon!

Hey guys, uLi is being really really busy recently. With the new job, house renovation and wedding stuffs preparation...it's going to make me headache~ Well, although it's expected but still need sometime to adjust my lifestyle. In between these 2-3 weeks, I've also captured a lot of photos on my friend's ROM and wedding. Will be shown in the upcoming post (*please bear with the slowness incurred recently* :P).

This post I'm thinking to share something on my new house renovation. Renovation wasn't an easy stuff to me anymore, so much things need to factor in, eg: budget, timing, design, colors and etc. Oh my god!! Been over-stressed in the past 1 week just because of choosing the right painting colors for my house....hubby suffered the same too! Hubby also spent a lots of time in meeting the contractors for quotation and also follow-up with the defects checking, luckily got him else I think the renovation will further drag until no time......

The good thing is as of now, all contractors for kitchen/wardrobe, piping, electrical points, plaster ceiling have been engaged and the reno work is going to kick-off next Monday! Wish us luck and I really hope everything can go on smoothly and on schedule.

Dinner at Baywatch Restaurant, Tanjung Sepat

Continued from previous post, our dinner was settled at the Baywatch Restaurant, one of the famous seafood restaurant which recommended by Jason "Ah Xian" (阿贤), which located at Tanjung Sepat, about 30 minutes drive from Golden Palm Tree Sea Villas. 肥肥 did some research on this place found many good comments, so we decided to try it out there instead of having dining inside the resort.

Sweet and Sour Fried Baby Octopus with Lime Juice (RM 13) - Savory dish, a good way to start off your meal, I love this ^^

Stir Fried Kailan with "Mui Choi" (RM8)

Teppan Oyster (RM 13) - one of their signature dish. It was great that cooked in a sizzling hot plate with a lot of baby oysters. Yummy!

Last but not least, the Claypot Drunken Prawns (RM 20) - myself and hubby are fans of drunken chicken, guess drunken prawns would tasted yummy too! And as expected, the soup tasted superb and the prawns were fresh!

Frankly to said that, the overall of the food is quite good and the price was reasonable as well. I told 肥肥 we must come back to this restaurant again whenever we come to Tanjung Sepat to try on others dish~

Haha....isn't it a nice resort at Golden Palm Tree Sea Villas? Let's continue to explore what are the activities available there as I've received many queries on what to do there beside enjoy the nice stay inside the luxury villa ^^

Basically all the activities listed below are included in the room rate that we paid. Oh ya, just to share with you guys that the promotional rate that we took was RM480++ inclusive of 1 complimentary breakfast. Hmmm....I was thinking they should cover 2 complimentary breakfast instead of 1 only le....Anyway, let's check out the activities which available there:

Water Sport activities - Sailing, kayak, stand up paddle, windsurfing, cart sailing and speed sail (from 9.30am to 6.00pm at the Sunset Beach).

Bicycle Tour

Gym Room - Open daily from 8am to 10am.

Sunset beach is the private beach by Golden Palm Tree, buggy service is available for the drop-off at this private beach. Remember the activities listed above? Mostly are carry out at this beach ya ^^ Myself just went for kayak coz wanted to reserve more time to take picture......

Oh ya, the traffic jam also consumed me about 2.5 hours a day in order for me to get to work and vice versa T_T Don't have much time to update or even check on your blog nowadays....but please bear with me and continue to come back to my site, I'm in the midst of adjusting my life here and definitely I'll be back!

Anyway, so sorry for the overdue pictures for my Sepang Goldcoast trip. Without further delay, let's check out the stories of my short vacation right before I started with the new job ^^

Heading to Sepang Goldcoast Golden Palm Tree Sea Villa ^^

Patrons are actually not allow to park the car inside the resort's compound. In fact, there is no parking lot available inside the resot....hehe! What you will need to do is to park your car at the open space carpark which is nearby and call up the receptionist and ask them to send a buggy to fetch you for check-in ^^

28.8.2010: This date marked another memorable day for me and hubby~ Finally we've gotten the key - Lord of The Key for our home sweet home! It has been waited for so long (although the SPA date stated is Dec'2010 :P) and we've been worrying that we can't get it done for our wedding which is fall on Dec'2010. Thanks to the developer for the early handover, now we are just hoping the CF approval can be obtained soon so that we can begin with the renovation to catch the wedding timeline.

If you did followed my previous post about project O2H, I'm sure you've roughly see the pictures which I posted during the construction phase; and me and hubby did "climb-up" (of course not spiderman's kind of climbing la, what I mean is when the staircases were built-up) to our floor to "see see look look" our unit :P The feeling is totally different when we use our own key to open up the door compared to previous sneak-in, I feel so good and excited at that moment! ^^

There are also the multipurpose hall cum badminton court, gym room on 2nd floor. But the door has locked so no pictures at the moment. Overall, the workmanship inside our unit quite good, minor defects detected so far, hope there's no issue on the water piping and electrical circuit (water and electricity are not available now until CF obtained) *finger cross* But one thing that concerned me the most is the parking lot that assigned to us, there is no direct elevator access from lobby to basement parking, we need to walk down using the outdoor staircase to reach to the carpark, and mine one is at Basement 2 *sucks* (Told you, no 100% perfect!)

Hmm.....now we are busy in meeting with the contractors for the renovation, really not an easy job, imagine to meet 1 contractor can use up half a day. Just hope that we are able to find one suitable and good one with affordable budget, although there's no perfect, god bless us!

Till here, I need take a rest ya. Tomorrow will begin my new working life at Yellowman company ^^ Will share more pictures on my new job and new house renovation soon. Ciao~

My Farewell Bash by OD Gang & The Lovely Gift ^^

Finally it reaches to the last post on my farewell party and this is the greatest party of all, thrown by my OD gang! ^^ The party was held at The George And Dragon, BSC. On that evening, OD member all have the same mission, which is to make me drunk!!! *aikkkksss* As if my wedding dinner more than my farewell, they said wanna to train me up for the coming wedding dinner o_0 So that night, I was holding the big pint of Hoegaarden all night long!

Since I'm the main person during that evening, so I do not have much time holding my camera :P Luckily I've "hired" 2 professionals to take the pictures for me with my gang. Thanks to PT and Vialentino for the help! Also special thanks to boss for organizing this event ^^

My Farewell with IR Folks at KoRyo Won, Suria KLCC

Yup, farewell post again ya! ^^ My farewell bash continued happily @KoRyo Won Korean Restaurant together with my beloved IR folks. Oh wait, what is IR? International Roaming it is ^^ Knowing this bunch of people (majority) since I joined MAXIS, wow it's 5 years time. Well, to me, user = demand group of people. Bingo! This is so true.... Perhaps, this is the nature of the business. No demand = no business = no $$$.....hehe!

Anyway, I wanna to tell you all that I'm so lucky to have a bunch of good users who are really work together with the support team. These people are especially the 2 big lady bosses who are so knowledgeable and capable, I've learnt a lot from them throughout these years.

This is one of my favourite parts of a Korean meal; and the fact that since most restaurants generously offer “free refills” too. It depends on which Korean restaurant anyway.

This is the first and foremost farewell dinner thrown by my boss at Malones, Sooka Sentral. It's a new Irish pub opened recently, their signature would be the "black dog", Guinness Stout ^^ Even some of their main course also cooked using the combination of the Stout!!

It's definitely a nice place to chill out after the office hour :) And that's why boss chosen this place for the farewell bash with the team. There is a pool table inside the restaurant, but too bad, it's always FULL-HOUSE due to overwhelming business....haha! Anyway, we had a good time there, thanks to all my teamates and of course to my boss ^^

Beef Burger. A very huge portion for a female.....but for a guy, should be no problem la ^^

Chicken Chop with Red Sauce. At first I thought this must be super spicy, but after tasted it, it's the similar sauce used for spaghetti bolognese ^^

Spaghetti Marinara. Seafood lover's choice~ But don't know why, it took them more than 30minutes to serve this dish...hmmmm~ No good!

My boss favorite - Chicken Breast! Low cholesterol, low fat. Tasted not bad, meaty and juicy.

[A Special Post Dedicated to my readers especially to my colleagues in MAXIS & IBM]

Yes! You read it true and guess it right! It's my turn now! Hahahahaha.....I've recently tendered my resignation to my current company. Reason being? Well, hunted a better opportunity out there and I seriously think that I shouldn't let my learning curve just to stop here. A wisdom statement from Mr.Ferrari: Ones should jump at least 2-3 companies (don't be too much ya) within the first 10 years in working life! Of course, it wasn't an easy decision for me. Been thinking upside down, left and right for days before came out with this decision. I've been working at the same environment with my colleagues for almost 5 years, for sure I'm going to miss my colleagues very much especially my On Demand (OD) gang!

It seems like just the other day when I organized farewell party for my colleagues (if you are my regular reader, you should know......hehe!) , I remember thinking that it would be hard to say goodbye....and I was right - it is hard. Yet I consider myself fortunate to have met with a group of working colleagues (not to mention any names here, you are the one!) who are supportive and friendly. Well, if you were to ask me, what's made the most memorable in this 5 years of working life, I would says it's the spirit of friendship that fostered along the road. You all are the BEST! At the mean time, I am so proud of myself that I've actually formed a group of my OD gang, we share the laughter and tears together~ We care with each other and I think that's the spirits that we are looking for no matter what, where, when and how......I love you guys~

As we say goodbye, we remind ourselves that farewells are not forever, nor are they the end. They are simply words to say express that I will be missing you all and that you will remember me fondly. Although we may be separated by time and distance in the interim, nothing will diminish our friendship! "天下无不散之宴席", I'm sure we will meet up again ^^

Well, I'm going to on 1 week leave before begin my new life in the new company on 1st Sept 2010! Recharge, rest & relax ^^ Till then, wish me BEST OF LUCK, and remember drop me a few words here if you wish to do so, ok? Muakzzz~

HeyHey, I am taking a short break to visit to Gold Coast! Hooray~

Ehemmm...hang on, it's Sepang Gold Coast Golden Palm Tree and not Australia Gold Coast ya! Hehehe... Anyway, it was hubby's idea to have a breathtaking break there as the Golden Palm Tree Sea Villas has just soft-launched in month of Jul'10. Although it's just a 2D1N vacation but we're very looking forward to it! Wanna to swim at the amazing infinity pool, take lots of pictures and fly kite there ^^

Meanwhile, my friend also recommend us to go try out the fresh and delicious seafood at Tanjung Sepat which is half an hour away from Sepang Gold Coast. Oh well.....I am on my way now~ Will share more pictures after we back from the break ^^

Congratulations to both of the piggy members and wish you all "Happy Together" ^^ Awaiting for their wedding ceremony in this coming October~

When we talk about Indonesian cuisine, I believe the most common one would be Balinese style. But this time, we don't want Balinese, we wanna try something different, let's have some street food from Jakarta, specialized in Javanese cuisine from Little Jakarta ^^

Little Jakarta is tucked among a row of shops in Taman Danau Desa in Kuala Lumpur. Although it's just opened in Jul'10, but their specialty has strongly attracted the attention from the people who work or living nearby. Me and my foodie gang were so curious and excited to try out the Javanese cuisine, and I can tell you that Little Jakarta will never let you down ^^

Gado-Gado (RM5.90) - A salad of boiled vegetables, dressed in a peanut-based spicy sauce and some cracker (rempeyek) served on the side, also there are some "lemang" alike rice cubes hide in it ^^

Pepes Tenggiri/Udang (RM7.50) - The fish/prawns mixed with a spice paste, wrapped in banana leaf, and grilled.

Crispy KREMES Chicken (RM6.90) - delicious~

Sayur Asem (RM4.90) - this tasted a bit like Tom Yam. Sour and spicy, my favorite ^^

Rawon - A dark beef soup, this is the specialty in conjunction of Puasa Ramadan.

You can take the Rawon beef cubes together with the rice and salted egg....

Sambal Petai Prawns (RM8.90) - some local delicacy, anyone?

Nasi Uduk Komplit (RM8.50) - it comes with the crispy fried drumstick! The chicken meat texture was very soft and juicy. I think this must be some secret recipe behind~

Soto Ayam (RM6.90) - friend said this is the original Javanese Soto Ayam which came with clear soup instead of those dark in color which usually we eat at the mamak stall.

Now Little Jakarta is having the WIFI promotion in conjunction of the new opening. Yes! You read it right - "Bring Laptop, FREE 1 Javanese Coffee!"

Remus Chong, who has many Indonesian friends from his college days and was based in Jakarta when he worked in an investment firm there, decided to open a restaurant which only serves street food from Jakarta. A young man who fulled with creative business mind-set! ^^

Ooops, excuse me! This is going to be a 100% HOT DURIAN post. And for your info, I fall sick after this trip, I think it was due to too much of MUSANG.....hehe :P

Well, it was a planned trip by my Mr.Ferrari since his in-laws owns a durian orchard at Sg.Klau, about 30 minutes away from Raub. Last year there was a same event but I didn't manage to join the gang due to some reasons, so this time I told myself that I can't be missing it again...hehe! We actually tried to avoid the hot sun in the afternoon, so the trip began quite early. We met up at Bukit Maluri for dim sum breakfast at 7.30am and it took us about 2 hours to reach to the destination. I was in the same car with my travelling mates, Choy and Janice, laughter and joy throughout the whole journey ^^

When I met with the real owner of the orchard (Mr.Ferrari's in-laws), I'm pretty impressed...they were not really young people but able to climb up and down in the hot fields to pick up durians over the big orchard. 1 word to be described - PASSIONATE!

Alright! After "makan" free, its time to give back some business to the owner. With the superb class of Musang, "Zhuk Giok" and D24, all of us bought alot of durians back to KL to share with family and friends....

Orchard price as of last week - Musang at RM11/KG. Prior to this trip, I went to buy Musang King at Pandan Jaya at RM15/KG and the quality wasn't as good as this lor.....

Woooo......good business neh!

When on the way to Bukit Tinggi for our late lunch, we stopped by Bentong for the famous Kow Po ABC to quench our thirst after the hot day. When I reached there, noticed the restaurant was packed with customers and I wonder how good is the famous ABC is? (Why Mr.Ferrari looks so excited? Hahaha.....)

Here you go.....RM3.50/bowl like this with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream on top of it. Nice or not? I would say normal lor..... :P

I'm hungry and I spotted this stall! I can't wait any further, so I'd "evil" my travelling mates to share the nasi lemak with me....hehe! It was an awesome plate of nasi lemak, it heals me from the potential gastric pain :P

Finally we arrived at Remember 126 Restaurant @Kg Bukit Tinggi. Heard this place was very famous for the river fish, so we decided to give it a try!

Steamed River Patin - priced at affordable range and I think it's delicious and worth it! (Sorry, I was too tired and lazy to take photos of the rest of the dishes, so I just shared the patin with you guys ya ^^)

New Feast of Flavors at Benkay Japanese Restaurant, Hotel Nikko KL

It's time to have some sushi and before that, let me bring you to visit to this 5 star Japanese restaurant at Hotel Nikko Kuala Lumpur - Benkay!

Benkay Japanese Restaurant was named after a historic Japanese warrior who was strong, courageous and loyal during the war period in Japan. It is also a well-known name for Japanese Restaurants in Japan offering traditional and excellent quality of authentic Japanese food.

Its entrance gives a warm welcome reception area, whereby on the right side showcasing a Sake chiller, giving diners the opportunity to select choices of Japanese alcoholic beverages and house pouring wine.

A waiting area and new concept of decor including the curtain, wallpaper and a small Japanese Garden that separates the reception and the main dining, giving diners the opportunity to savour classical Japanese cuisine ambience. Indeed, the interior décor reflects a combination of traditional Japanese custom and contemporary style.

Right before the dinner starts, Chef Yanagida demo to us on how to make the sushis, eg: Nigiri Sushi, Tobiko Gunnkan Nigiri, California Roll and Inari Sushi. During the session, I had the hands-on experience in making the sushi, it was not that easy as I thought~

Chef Yanagida - a creative chef who good in using a fusion of both Western and Asian ingredients and spices alongside a myriad of traditional Japanese cooking elements, in creating a creative new menu features an excellent selection of extraordinary creations that’s bound to convert even the most reluctant guests into fanatics of Japanese cuisine.

No doubt, Chef owns the sharp skills on the Japanese cuisine culinary.

Dinner Time with the New Feast of Flavors at Benkay Japanese Restaurant

The dinner starts with a cup of hot Green Tea to warm up my stomach.....nice~

Well, we start off the dining experience with Thin Slice Yellow Tail with Chilli Padi and Wasabi Sauce that’s bound to set one’s tastebud ablaze.

Then we move on for a ‘melt-in-the-mouth’ experience with the creamy smooth silky taste of Steamed Foie Gras Egg Custard topped with Crab Meat Gravy ^^

Not to be missed - my favorite Assorted Sashimi....yummy~

For ones who craving for more tasty maki - Eel, Avocado, Deep Fried Soft Shell Crab Sushi Roll with Almond Sauce would be the best choice!

For the traditionalists, there of course the California Maki on your own choice ^^

Traditional Deep Fried Beancurd - the softness of the tofu is to die for, love this so much~

This is a special dish - Hot Green Tea Poured over Rice in a Bowl served with Deep Fried Prawn Tempura ^^

The meal is not complete without having this - Macha Purin (Green tea pudding). The wonderful dessert gives a delightful finishing to a delightful meal on the evening~ ^^
