PC Fair 2009 (31 July 2009 - 2 Aug 2009)

Yo folks, tomorrow will be another round of PC fair at KL Convention Center. This time I'm planning to get a 500GB external hdd, wondering which brand is the reliable and affordable one? Friends recommended to me so many brands like WD, Seagate, Samsung, Maxtor, Buffalo and etc. You guys have any good opinion for me?

Meanwhile, check out below promotion by PC.Com and HWM magazine. I think it's really worth to subscribe this magazine if the freebies is the one you wanted. I personally subscribed HWM before (during uni time) and I got a set of nice speaker ^^

Berlin Biergarten @Solaris Mont Kiara

Last Saturday night went out with piggy gang to have a drink at Solaris Mont Kiara. We spotted this restaurant/bar which allocated nearby the Haagan Dazs ice cream. It's named "Berlin Biergarten" - a German restaurant.

This menu is nice, inside they recommended varieties of German beers. Majority are from RM19.50++ per bottle.

This is what I've ordered - Thurn & Taxis Roggen (0.5L) - RM28

Hacker Pschorr Anno 1417 - RM28

The bottle looks special, we took a few empty bottles home for "collection"...haha! IKEA is selling this kind of bottle as well fyi~

We also ordered the Bratwurst (RM28) - The German sausages which composed of pork meat. It served with the mashed potatoes, sour marinated cabbages and some mushroom slices. It taste not bad, I would give it 7.5/10.

Berlin Specialty Crispy Pork Knuckle (RM68). Very big portion but I think it was not that nice as the pork meat was too hard to chew. I think Euro Deli Grill at Jln. Yap Kwan Seng tasted better than this. Sorry le, 5/10 for this big but not so nice pork knuckle.

The piggy gang have a long night chat over that night until 2am++. Nice beer, nice gang and nice place to be.

Go-Green Event 2009

Yesterday was another successful event organized by Team Cybertron (IBM-Maxis). It's the THINK GREEN, GO GREEN Event!

How?

By adopt a plant or many plants ^^

The team has done a good job this time, the whole event was well planned and we have sufficient time to prepare everything prior to the event. Christie and Choy, both the event manager - well done; especially to Christie, she went all the way to Sg.Buluh plant nursery to hunt for the nice plants!

The whole event was held at Plaza Sentral office, level 6. We've transformed the meeting room to the GREEN House - the station where to attract visitors and of course the business $$$. The $ that earned from this event will be parked under the Team Cybertron fund so that we could use the $ to subsidize for the upcoming events like "Charity Drive", "Go-Kart", "Durian Party" and etc.

Variaties of plants, so colorful and greenary. We've ordered 110 pots if not mistaken. Not sure how much we've earned...hehe! Need to wait for the coming announcement from our "CFO".

Our customers, from IBM and Maxis. Everyone looks cheerful with the plant carried with them. Thank you folks!

These are the core committee members for the event [from top left: CK (camera crew), Christie (lady who holding the flowers), Sharenjit (smart and cool lady), LingLing (with spec, my teamate), myself and Chee Leong (Team Cybertron CFO)]. Too bad there are a few of the members unable to make it for the actual day due to busy with urgent meetings.

I've bought 3 plants for myself...total RM43, cheap or pricy? Even if pricy, I think it's OK la coz to support the event ma ^^Ta...daaa...Nice or not? I love it very much~ Hopefully the plants will grow healthily and won't "gone-case" so soon ya...hehe ^^

老婆饼

今天同事带来了从香港买回来的老婆饼- 荣华老婆饼。还没有打开来试，准备当作明天的早餐。话说回来，老婆饼，老婆饼。。。这名字也太妙了吧。不知道老公吃了它，会不会都听老婆的话呢？嘻嘻！

Rendezvous Steak Garden, Kampung Pandan

Rendezvous Steak Garden (相见欢西餐), I went there last Sunday with my family for dinner. Rendezvous offer a wide varieties of weatern food at a reasonable and affordable price. You will be able to find some local style dishes here as well like fried rice, fried mee and etc. I like their Marmalade Chicken Chop and this is what I order almost everytime I came to this place.

If you are run out of idea where to for the cheap and nice western food, I think this is one of the place to be considered. They also have a branch at Taman Billion if not mistaken.

Manchester United Asia Tour 2009 [Malaysia]

*RED SEA* The best to described the stadium for Man Utd Asia Tour which happened yesterday at Stadium Nasional Bkt. Jalil. So so so many people came to watch this match, after 8 years time, Manchester United team came back again to Malaysia to have a friendly football match with Malaysia team.

The game was planned to begin at 5:30pm. Me and my piggy gang reached the stadium by LRT at around 4pm. Waliao~ "people mountain people sea" (broken english ^^ meaning flooded with people). I believed 95% of the people were truly fan of Man Utd! Where is another 10%? Well, I think I'm part of the 5% coz I came for the match just to have fun with my gang as well as for photos le...hehe~ Not to scare you, but according to the news, total of 90,000 tickets were being sold out for this match! Wao! That's alot man... Congrats to the event organizer, they must be earning big $ huh...

My gang bought the RM68 tickets and managed to grab a good seat in the stadium. Initially was a bit hot but after settled down, I think it's fine. The audiences were so excited. In fact, I should use "high" to describe all of us ^^

A special performance by the marching band from St.John KL. The performance was really great indeed~

The match ended around 8:30pm with the results Man Utd (3): M'sia Team (2). Again, the LRT station packed with lots and lots of people. Luckily we are the clever one *ahemmm* We walked to the Sri Petaling LRT station (1 station before Bkt.Jalil station, 10 minutes walk) and managed to grab a seat inside the train ^^

The outing wasn't just stopped after the match. The piggy gang continued with the dinner at the Look Out Point, Ulu Langat. Finally uLi san got the chance to use her new tripod...hehe!

Malaysia International Jewellery Fair 2009

MIJF 2009 was held at KL Convention Centre on last week (9.Jul.09 - 12.Jul.09). I went there with 肥肥 and piggy gang on last Sunday. It was a new experience for me as I never go to any jewellery fair before. Thanks to Phoebe, she got us a few VIP cards so that we can enjoy free massage there ^^

Majority of the jewelers’ booth were come from Hong Kong. All kinds of diamond ring, necklace, and bracelet were displayed and selling there. My friend told me the price from fair is far cheaper than normal retail shop. And yes, I think it is much more cheaper, around 30%.

I can't take pictures on the jewellery as it's prohibited by the organiser. I only managed to capture some photos below at the open area >.<

Manchester United has announced that the club will be playing several friendlies in Asia during the summer of 2009. The projected dates for the summer tour, as of press time, are:

Malaysia - July 18, Malaysia XI v Man United
Indonesia - July 20, Indonesia XI v Man United
Korea - July 24, FC Seoul v Man United
China - July 26, Greentown FC v Man United

Piggy gang have actually bought the tickets (RM68) for sometime ago...tickets are selling like hotcakes man~ Well, although I'm not really a football fan but just join my piggy gang to have a "rombongan" there ^^ Hopefully I can capture more nice photos by then...
