~* New Born - Baby Siu Fai Cai *~

Congratulations to Ah Fai & Xiang Bing! Finally Siu Fai Cai borned in the last day of Mar'09, 10:12am with 3.2KG. Bravo to mama Xiang Bing Siu Fai Cai haven't gotten his name, daddy still thinking which good name to select from the long list...haha! We were kidding just now to name a few for Ah Fai like "吴专一", "吴嗮做", "吴明" and etc... Those are just kidding, for fun only le but who knows daddy Fai like the name of "吴尊", really wanted to faint!

Anyway, everyone of us felt happy for Ah Fai - he has became a husband of wife last year in 2008 and now became the daddy of a cute baby boy in 2009. Really efficient ya! I think his brothers all need to ganbateh now to catch-up his foot steps...especially those who are still single (*ooopsss).

See, the above picture shown baby Siu Fai Cai and his lovely parent *Happy Family* ya! Wishing Siu Fai Cai grow up happily and healthily. Now piggy gangs' uncle aunties are scratching their heads on what to buy for this little boy...Any good suggestion besides those conventional baby hamper?

Wedding Expo Visit @MV

Have been thinking to visit to wedding expo since long time ago and finally today I've made it to the Bliss Bazaar Wedding and Beauty Expo at Mid Valley. So happened that there was a wedding gown fashion show on-going when I arrived there. Without any hesitation, I've took out my little Ixus to capture the beautiful models with the designer gowns by Keith Kee. I saw there were so many photographers and the SLR cameras keep on flashing on the stage...waliao! They made me have the urge to get a DSLR ASAP (target: Canon EOS 450D/500D)

The gown's design are really not bad, what about my shooting skills using the Canon Ixus ya?

Earth Hour 2009 Cont...

The hour has arrived! As promised, I've switched off all the lights and lighten up the candles at home (TV switched ON coz mum wanna watch the astro program). Went down to the apartment ground floor, as you can see in belowpicture, all the residents have did a good job Well done, folks!

Can you see the KLCC Twin Tower and KL Tower? I'm sure you cannot coz both of it has turned light off as well. What have you did between this meaningful hour?

Earth Hour Tonight!

This year, Earth Hour has been transformed into the world’s first global election, between Earth and global warming. It's also the first time in history, people of all around the world, ages, nationalities, race and background have the opportunity to use their light switch as their vote – Switching off your lights is a vote for Earth, or leaving them on is a vote for global warming.

Myself is definitely going to support this inspirational event by switch off the light. We may have 1 million of ways to save the world, but we do not have 1 million of world to be saved! How about you? Will you support this activity and what would you do during the lights off moment?

Yaki Yaki Japanese Barbeque Buffet

After the Jogoya, Saisaki fever, there are more restaurant with similar concept opened in KL like Tenji, Xenri and Yaki Yaki. Today me and my regular gang have visted to this Japanese Buffet restaurant which located at the heart of the KL city, Bukit Bintang (Federal Bowl) - Yaki Yaki Japanese Barbeque Buffet Restaurant. Luckily I've made the reservation a week ago, else I don't think we have the chance to get in because there are so many people there q-ing up for the 50% promotion on all dining period from16 Mar 2009 - 30 Apr 2009.

Price (before discount):
Lunch RM65++, Hi-Tea RM55++, Dinner RM75++, Supper RM65++

We've gotten the VIP room which can accomodate up to 15 persons. The restaurant is clean and spacious.
Yaki Yaki offer variety of food like BBQ specialty, raw sashimi, fresh oyster, yummy tempura, variety of soups, fried food, seafood mania like cod fish, crab, prawns, squid, desserts and etc. I personally love the cod fish, salmon sashimi and fresh oyster. The sashimi counter's chef keep on reminding the customer to put some of the special-made sauce into the oyster so that it taste better. Well, he is not bluffing, the oyster taste so much nicer after add in the sauce. You should try it as well

[Piggy Gang: Yew, Phoebe, Alan, Vincent, Michelle, JekChee, PuiKuan, Jerry, Carmen, Botak, XiangBing, Fai, CN & Kok Wai]
My Piggy Gang, everyone of us are enjoying the food, chit-chat all night long. Besides of that, we also brought up the Koh Samui topic like where to go, what to play, what to bring, how much of Thai baht need to change, and how to enjoy the trip (my next trip is to KS in Apr'09 with some of the piggy gang members). CN is asking us to join him for buggy jump in KS later. Well, I think I better stay away ... haha! Let's back to the buffet topic first, overall I think Jogoya still better than Yaki Yaki. Reason being is Jogoya offers wider and better food. If it's not opt for the 50% promotion, I don't think I would visit to this place for the 2nd time as RM75++ for buffet dinner there is not really worth it. But if you are fan of BBQ, is a good try for you!

Anyway, sometime hunt for new thing/food with your member is really fun hah, its not just the matter of food and taste only, is the ambience and who your companion is, what do you think?

*Johan & Jenny* R.O.M + Tony Roma's Dinner

Today is my "aiya" brother - Johan's R.O.M (Registration of Marriage) at Tin Hao Gong. Congratulations to him! The baby boy that I knew since 24 years back is now big enough and ready to get married. My mum babysitted Johan when he was new borned in year 1986. Our relationship is as close as 1 family. He used to call me "Jeh" and I call him "Hon Cai". Time flies, and now his turn to get married (faster than his "Jeh"). The ceremony started around 4:30pm, I noticed that there are many couples having the R.O.M today as well. Tin Hao Gong's biz must be very good Johan's number is 91 and no wonder his turn has been arranged at evening time.

Miao Miao was so excited today until she don't want to drink her milk! Being cusrious and busybody to grab the flowers and walk everywhere as in show off to other peoples...haha! She is always that cute~ I can see that everyone are so happy for Johan and Jenny and of course both of them looks excited and lovely too! Let me share with you some of the photos taken during the event.

[*A lovely couple ~ Johan and Jenny ~ Forever Love*]

[*Family Photos + MiaoMiao in action*]

After the ceremony, I brought MiaoMiao and mum to Mid Valley shopping and we have our dinner @Tony Roma's, The Gardens. We've ordered Chicken Salads, Seafood Soup, BBQ Chicken Sandwich and Roasted Garlic with Rosemarry Chicken. They served a complimentary bread roll and a few carrot/celery sticks for kid too. Mum was so shocked to see the salads came in BIG PLATE...haha! Well, the salads taste really good and mum liked it very much. Myself have the chicken sandwich and its fairly ok only, I guess I won't order this again next time. Alan looks quite enjoyed his Rosemarry Chicken and he sapu my seafood soup at the end The bill came around RM112 after taxed, I think the price is roughly the same as TGI-F and Chillies, what do you think? Oh ya, forgot to mention - the soft drinks are refillable ya!

[Tony Roma's served kids well, they do have the color crayon and paper for kids to do sketching and drawing, not bad ya Above picture also showing the foods we had just now.]

Last ISD Get Together Party

The first and the last ISD shirt has finally "launched" today. Wow Wow team has organized a get together party @Chillies Espresso, Sooka for all the ISDian before we officially outsource to IBM on 1st Apr 09. Early morning when reached to the office, the team has started to distribute the shirt and everyone seems busy in trying the new shirt. Err...the lady's cutting seems a bit smaller and I heard many people complaint about it. Anyway, I managed to get myself a size 'M' , thanks to Christie
[This is the 1st and the last ISD shirt - designed by Mr.Johnson]

Right before the party starts at 5pm, there is slot for group photo session at Plaza Sentral. Wao, this is the first time I participate in photo session with such a biggggg group of people ever since I graduated from uni...haha! Thanks to Vincent and John to help out us in the photography session - you both are super pro!
[Vincent and John - dedicated photographer]

[Guys turn in posing posing, Madam is with them]

When finished the photo session, everyone seems hungry and heading to Chillies Espresso, seems can't wait for the good food ya - organizer has ordered a buffet style dinner for us which cost RM35 per pax. Well, I can tell you that the foods and coffee there are very good! You should drop by at this restaurant if you come over to Sentral

[Photo session and lucky draw continue here. My future IBM big big boss - Mr.Ali is also here to be with us in the party]
The party finished at around 7pm. This is really a fruitful event and unforgettable moment. I can see everyone is enjoying in this session. Although this is the last activity held within ISD Maxis, I do hope the spirit will continue even after we move over to IBM. May be by that time Maxis partnership with IBM and form a team call - Wow! Maxis Wow! IBM, hahaha (siok sendiri)!
Some of us went home after the event and some of us went back to office to continue our work. Me? Back to office and work lorrrr....continue to troubleshoot my BCP server!!!

*MiaoMiao Reaching 16 Months*

Just to share with you guys that my cute niece is going to be 16 months old in this coming 19/3. Managed to captured her pattern in 2 days back. Do you think she is lovely and cute? My answer is definitely a YES!

Yum-Yum Curry Fish Head

Today suppose to hunt for Thai food for dinner but the restaurant was closed 肥肥 suggested to me some other choices like BoBo pan mee, big-fried, drunken chicken and etc. End up we decided to go for Curry Fish Head at Restoran Yum-Yum Curry House @Pandan Indah.

This is 1 of my favourite curry fish head in town. The gravy is thick and delicious. It cost us @RM24 for a pot which enough for 2-3 persons. Besides of that, we also ordered fried kai lan with venison (RM12). We enjoyed the pleasant dinner very much

*uLi* Homemade Nasi Lemak

This weekend (Sat) thought of continue to explore my new recipe, and I've choose to cook Nasi Lemak, 1 of my favourite food. Early morning went to pasar and bought all the ingredients. Maybe long time didn't visit to pasar and the prices are really shock me, half a chicken selling @RM7.50, 1 small plate of petai @RM5 I remembered that I bought the same chicken (half)at only RM5.50 leh (but that time was 5 years back la) Hmm...things are getting expensive nowadays. I spent around RM40 for the Nasi Lemak. Mum was asking me, "Why don't we go out and eat at Steven Corner ar?". I said I don't want la, coz wanna to learn and cook more so that I can show more in my blog...hahaha!

Ingredients that I bought......

I planned to cook 4 side dishes besides of the ikan bilis and kacang for my Nasi Lemak - main dish would be the dried curry chicken, follow by sambal petai, luncheon meat with egg and green bean.

Here you go my recipe:

Coconut Milk/Santan Rice
  • Ingredients : Rice, pandan leaves, coconut milk and salt.
  • Wash and clean the rice and put in a pot. Add the coconut milk and pandan leaves, remember to add a bit of salt, stir evenly. Steam the rice and bring to the boil.
Sambal Petai
  • Ingredients : petai, large onion, minced dried shrimp, belacan (small piece), minced of garlic and small red onion, fresh chillies (in pasar they call it as chillie ball).
  • Heat oil and fry the onions/garlics, add in belacan and minced dried shrimp then follow by fresh chillies. Stir and fry until fragrant, then add in petai and large onion. Add in salt or sugar according to your preference. Allow to cook for another 4-5 minutes and serve.

Green Bean

  • Ingredients : Green bean (I call it "guai-dao"), minced garlic, chicken stock cube and pepper.
  • Chop the green bean into small cubes.
  • Heat the oil, fry the minced garlic until slightly brown, add in the green bean cubes follow by chic stock cube and pepper according to your preference. Allow to cook for another 5 minutes and serve.
Luncheon Meat with Egg
  • Ingredients : Luncheon meat, eggs.
  • This is pretty simple - just dipthe luncheon meat in the eggs and put it to fry in hot pan.

(Green bean, lucheon meat and sambal petai)

Dried Curry Chicken
  • Ingredients : Chicken, potatoes, curry leaves, curry chicken powder, fresh chillies (chillies ball), minced of garlic, small red onions and ginger, coconut milk, chicken stock cube and pepper.
  • Peel off the potatoe skin and cut into smaller cube. Fry it using middle heat until it turn into golden brown color. Take it out from hotpan and get ready to mix with the chicken later.
  • Heat the oil, fry the minced garlic/onion/ginger until fragrant. Add in the curry chic powder, stir evenly and add in the fresh chillies. Cook for about 3min.
  • Add in the chicken to the chillies, stir them around so they are covered with the sauce. After 5min time, pour in the potatoes. Turn the heat down, add the coconut milk slowly (bit by bit - remember do not put so much of it because we want to cook the DRIED type of curry chic). Let the chicken cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally. You may add in the chic stock cube and pepper according to your preference.
  • Finally, the dried curry chicken is ready to serve.

(Here you go the dried curry chicken, what do you think?)

Ta daaaa...this is *uLi* Homemade Nasi Lemak (the kacang is a bit over-cooked ) Well, overall it taste good, mum said can buka nasi lemak stall dy

Duck King *帝王鸭*

Last Friday (13/3) I had my lunch at Duck King, Jaya ONE with my OD-Gang. This lunch outting has been planned since 2 weeks ago due to high demand from the duckie fan - CS. We arrived at the restaurant around 1pm and I can see the restaurant is almost FULL. Luckily I've made the reservation else.....(makan sendiri le) Duck King offers wide variety of foods and the place is clean and comfortable. The gang have decided to order some dim-sum first while waiting for the rest as we are hungry le (CS, Goh and Janice still stuck in the DO meeting). Duck King's menu looks so nice. Wa-sai! It's a hard cover booklet which contained many nice food shots. I saw the signature from 蔡澜 as well at the first page, and tell you what, this menu is actually sellable!! Yes, it's sellable @RM1.5K++

(See - Nice Pekking Duck picture + 蔡澜's signature. Price for this menu: RM1,500++, got tax somemore)
Finally we go for cha-siew-bao, lao-sa-bao, har-gao and egg-tart as our starter...hehe!
And below are what we had for the main course

(Roster Pork, Fried Kai-Lan in 2 variety, rice with minced pork, Duck King signature Bean Curd, Roaster Duck (whole), Beijing-Duck (half) and Duck Meat fried with XO sauce)

What I can tell you is the roster duck is SUPERB . The duck skin is so crispy, the meat taste so soft and juicy - love it! May be the roster duck is too good, so I feel that the Beijing-Duck is fairly OK only. The rest of the dishes taste yummy yummy!

(My OD-Gang; OD = On-Demand)

The nice lunch has completed by the nice desserts below.

Total Bill: RM351, although is a bit pricy but i highly recommend you to have a try there. Tell me what do you think about Duck King?
